Reuse in fashion survey
Posted September 10th, 2009 by weallreuseA recent study carried out by Recycle Now states that only 16% of unwanted textiles are reused in the UK. 63% of that clothing goes to landfill, and we'd like you to help us change that.
we all reuse are interested in how reuse in fashion has growing in popularity, and would be really grateful if you could complete the following survey ASAP.
We'll be presenting the results during London Fashion Week. As a thank you one lucky respondent will win a glamorous reused ring from seraglia.com!

The illusion of thrift
Posted September 14th, 2009 by weallreuseThe recent New York shows point to an increasing interest in craft, assemblage and a thrift-inspired look that is expected to carry through to London Paris and Milan. These designers are patching together luxe materials to create stunning and striking art garments - but will the department store and boutique buyers go for it? Will their customers bite?
Though we are currently experiencing a revival of 90's grunge with plaid shirts and ripped denim - this is a clearly low to middle market phenomenon.

Shoes put to good use
Posted July 8th, 2009 by AyseWe see shoes as a fashion statement, not a way to protect our feet. Therefore, we buy tens of pairs and even forget about some. While we are wasting shoes and good material, kids all around the world have nothing to protect their feet in.
It is said that an astonishing one and a half million non-used shoes are lying around all over the world, while 300 million children walk around with no shoes on their feet. So, why not put our non-used shoes to good use?
Vintage is not only good for the planet but cool too!
Posted July 8th, 2009 by AyseSo the economy is bad and so is the planet. What does this push us towards? Of course, reuse.
In the past, nobody even considered wearing old clothes which were once owned and pre loved by someone else, but these days we wear vintage with pride. A slight change of the use of words, and voila, the society have made reuse acceptable. Actually, no, not just acceptable, but cool.
Nowadays, celebrities are spotted in "cool" vintage pieces, as well as that very chic girl you know and love what she always wears.
