the librarians present - thelondonpaperlibrary, a one-day library of free books
When thelondonpaper closes, commuters may no longer have a choice in free-sheets, but they will have a choice in a whole range of books.
On the afternoon of Monday 21st September 2009, the first day without thelondonpaper free-sheet, one circle line train will turn into a temporary mobile library of free books for commuters to take and enjoy.
The library is planned for one day, but may continue for as long as commuters want.
A handy library tag in each book will link commuters to www.thelondonpaperlibrary.co.uk with options on continuing the library, expanding the collection, or finding out more about a network of free library systems.
The library will be open from 4pm – 7pm on Monday 21st September 2009, on one train of the circle line.
thelondonpaperlibrary is produced by the librarians: a group of artists, designers, local residents and gardeners interested in social systems and temporary events for the everyday.
