why glamour matters

The old saying “first impressions count” has never been truer in our image driven society. Our senses are under constant attack, from adverts, the media, and the sheer amount of cultural noise around us.

In order for us to take notice, this cacophony will have to be drowned out by something literally out of the ordinary.

Glamour, that hard to define quality that makes you stop in your tracks to take a second look, or decide to really ring back the morning after, will always do the trick.

Glamour can help you get what you deserve, whether that’s attention, a better lover, self confidence, a pay rise, a record deal, or your cause in the papers.

Have you ever wondered how glamorous people seem to have got ahead by just turning up at the right place at the right time? It may look like they are just lucky but 99% of the time, they did their homework first, with years of honing their skills, gathering their resources, planning, and networking.

‘Effortless’ glamour very rarely is.

The world’s most glamorous people are not always the richest, money itself is not a passport to an innate sense of style and inner confidence. A single dress or suit worn well is worth a thousand costly, badly chosen outfits.

Fashion and lifestyle magazines work hard to convince you to buy the latest “must have item” or otherwise you’ll be left behind.

If you have the cash, by all means spend it, but be selective - glamour and slavishly following trends are most definitely not the same thing. Besides, those super fashionable pieces are the ones most likely to be copied in their thousands on the high street just after you’ve made your purchase.

Just a pair of sunglasses can be enough to show that you are moving with the times…

Gone are the days when a single dress would define the look of a season. Pop stars are forced to reinvent themselves on an ever more frequent basis, and hemlines go up and down with alarming frequency.

Be yourself , but don’t be afraid to change.
